Apocalypse

Driven by selfish uncaring acts of humankind, planet Earth is at the start of a Sixth Mass Extinction. Overpopulation, pollution and deforestation are accelerating natural climate change, causing soil erosion, poisoning the air we breathe and making ever more scarce natural sources of water undrinkable.

We can’t feed our overpopulated planet without the use of pesticides that damage our hormones and give us cancers while totally destroying multiple communities of wildlife.

Researchers say that ecosystems essential for the functioning of human life could vanish in under a century – but we will cease to exist way before then. We are fast approaching a tipping point beyond which the collapse of life on Earth becomes inevitable.

How does the human race respond to this crisis? It remains in a trance and does nothing.

We continue to embrace the capitalist system that rapes our Earth because its not convenient right now to challenge it. In doing so we have invited and will deservedly get The Apocalypse.

But wait, Intuitive Machines, a private company with shareholders, has just landed on the Moon exciting both the financial markets and those who see a new Garden of Eden to escape to when Earth is uninhabitable.

Could this be our new home?

A possibility for Bill Gates, Elon Musk et al, but not for the likes of you and me. We had a beautiful world, a heaven on Earth and we destroyed it.

Heaven, as in the all-singing, all-dancing destination for those who obey the religious leaders doesn't exist. Make your peace on Earth before it dies, and you with it.
